Leeds

Leeds was recently voted the UK’s favourite city and is known for its excellent shopping and outstanding nightlife. A culturally diverse and cosmopolitan city, Leeds has a multitude of things to see and do, from walking tours around the markets and on the riverside, to visits to art galleries and museums, or a night out in one of the many clubs, there is something for everyone here.

Attractions

Leeds is home to several art galleries, including the Leeds City Art Gallery and the Henry Moore Institute. There are a range of museums and parks to visit, and a choice of city walking tours to participate in, should you wish to get an overview of what the city has to offer.

Shopping

The Corn Exchange is an excellent place to purchase unusual and unique gifts and clothing. Its attractive interior means that it is definitely worth visiting, even if it’s just to go window shopping. The nearby White Rose shopping precinct has a large number of high street stores, making it ideal for a productive shopping spree. More upmarket shopping can be found in the Victoria quarter, where there are a host of designer stores.

Nightlife and Eating Out

There are many excellent restaurants in Leeds, offering cuisine from around the world – some of them award winning. The waterfront on the River Aire is an excellent place to find some high class restaurants. For something more basic, there is a huge choice of cafés throughout the city centre.

Regardless of what genre of music you are into, there is bound to be a club to suit your tastes in Leeds. From funk and soul in Atrium, to commercial dance in Majestyk, Leeds caters for all clubbing needs. There are several cinemas, gig venues (including The Cockpit) and theatres in and around the city, so there will be something to do no matter what your mood.
