Baden Baden

Baden-Baden is situated in the west of Germany, close to the Germany-France border. It is part of the Black Forest and is famous for its thermal baths and spas. Baden-Baden has some splendid examples of Gothic architecture, which is typical of the region. Examples include the Lichtental Abbey and the Stiftkirsche. Its status as a Roman spa town for many years has left a mark on the city, there are Roman bath ruins to be visited, and you can even try out the thermal spas in the Roman-Irish Baths. Baden-Baden also has its own racetrack, and is surrounded by what is known as the "wine country" to the locals. This wine country is lovely to visit for wine tasting, or even just to walk through. There are pleasant walks through the nearby Black Forest on the "Black Forest Scenic Road."
